Insert the CDROM. The WireCAD installer should start automatically. If not, open the CDROM drive in explorer, or run the set-up utility setup.exe from the command line by clicking Start>Run. Then enter: Path to setup\setup.exe and Click <Run>.

If you are downloading the program from the website, you will need to extract the zipped file before double-clicking setup.exe

If you are installing WireCAD for the first time, WireCAD will install to the location of your choosing.

The WireCAD installer will also repair damaged installations. Simply re-launch the setup program.

Note that repairing an installation may have undesirable results, as it will replace your modified databases with clean versions.

Enterprise Installation Considerations

Note: The following instructions apply to those who wish to install WireCAD Professional in a multi-user environment. .

If you are installing WireCAD on a network and want to be able to share projects and global databases. Several topics will be of interest to you:

1.Support Paths. Here you will set up common databases; specifically, the Global Equipment Databases contained in (dbEquip.MDB). Place this database on a common network share and point your support path to it in order that work done in it, will be visible to all users. Also create a common Project Manager (dbPM.MDB) database. This will allow a project created by one user to be visible to all.
2.Consolidate and Link Project database functions. One user Creates a New Project, and immediately Consolidates the project that it may be Linked to by other users.

Note: Step 2 is only necessary if the project was created by an installation that does not share the Project Manager database to add a reference to the Project Manager database. For example: you are in the field with your laptop and create a new project, then come back to the office. You would move the incoming project to a visible share after Consolidation and Link to it.
