Manage externally referenced drawings. These are drawings that are visible in the current Model space but maintained in separate files. They are linked here read only. This allows base drawings to be managed separately yet display in the current drawing. Because they are linked they are not editable.
You can bind a previously Externally Referenced drawing to the current document if you desire that it be editable in the current view. You can control the visibility of XREF layers from the Layers dialog.

•Attach - Browse to the file. After which you will be presented with the standard Insert dialog to position the incoming file on the screen.
•Detach - Remove the XREF.
•Reload - Get any changes to the XREF file and display them.
•Bind - Make it a Block in this drawing file. It is no longer linked and changes in the source file will no longer reflect in the current drawing.
•Unload - Get rid of it.
