Q: I am an old time WireCAD user from way back. Where have all of my WireCAD files gone? They are not in the C:\Program Files\WireCAD5 folder like WireCAD5 beta1. What's up?

A: This is a restriction of Vista. As a standard user you cannot write anything to your Program Files directories. So we had to restructure the program so that the stuff we write to all the time like the databases and projects reside outside the Program Files directory. So to answer your question, your main application stuff (WireCAD5.exe) and the like still reside in the Program Files\WireCAD5 directory. Your program documents (global databases, templates, blocks, reports, default and demo projects, etc.) are now in the All Users\Documents\WireCAD\WireCAD5 folder. Other application data like logs and toolbar change data is located in the <User>\Local Settings\Application Data\WireCAD\WireCAD5 this folder structure is usually hidden. On Vista the names change your WireCAD documents will be in the Public\Documents\WireCAD\WireCAD5 folder.
