This will guide users on LAWA specific features and funtions.




Before You Start

This section will only apply to LAWA users.


Accessing the 3 main LAWA specific functions in WireCAD

Command line shortcut Description
1. Command Line Shortcut: ABS This will open the "Add Backbone Segment" Window. This is where you will add multi core Cable types to create a Backbone between equipment/Patch Panels.
2. Command Line Shortcut: NC This will open the "Create Circuit" Window. This is where you will build Circuits between equipment using Jumpers.
3. Command Line Shortcut: CMSCG This will open the "Circuits Grid" Window. From here, you can view and edit information regarding pre-built circuits as well as create a visual preview of such circuits.

Adding Equipment to Project Database

Step Description
1. Open your Equipment Library For more information on accessing your equipment library, refer to Accessing Equipment Library
2. Find your equipment using the "Find" bar or create a new equipment definition. For more information on creating new equipment, refer to Create a New Equipment Definition
3. After selecting the piece of equipment you would like to use and defining the port and display information, select the "Add to Project Database Only" button from the Quick Buttons on the right side of your equipment library. A new window will pop up requiring some information fields to be filled in.
4. With the New Sysname box open, enter all data you would like associated with this Equipment Definition. WireCad will automatically choose the next available Sysname based on your Sysname format. You can also enter a Location, Elevation, Alias, Engineering and User data here.
5. Select if you would like to add a single piece of equipment or many of the same type of equipment. If you select add many, a new box will open asking you how many pieces of equipment you would like to add of this type.
6. Press ok and if you are done in your Equipment Library, Close it using the X in the top right corner. If you would like to add other equipment, return to step 2 and continue until finished.
