This will tell you how WireCAD utilizes connection points in a drawing.

Before You Start

Connection points are placed on equipment ports in order to connect cables. The connection point is given a Connector Type based on the port information assigned in the I/O tab of that equipment.

Connection Points

Information Image
The connection point will be located at the end of the line extending from the equipment block.
When moving your mouse cursor over the port line, a red box will appear with "CP" above it. This means you are linked to that connection point and a cable can be successfully connected to this point.
Note: If you do not have the red box and attempt to attach a cable, the cable will be drawn but upon cable number assingment, you will recieve an error stating "Cannot recieve information from Source or Destination side of Cable".
