This will guide you on how to convert a project from a Vista Database to a SQL Sever Database.

Before You Start

You will need to have a project created using a Vista DB and have that project checked out using the Pack Up and Go function. For more info on the pack up and go function, please see Howto:Packup and Go

Converting Vista DB to SQL DB

Step Description/Notes
Create a new SQL project with the exact same name as the Vista project. If your Vista project is in the same location that you are wanting your SQL project to reside then first move your Vista Project folder to another location.
With your newly created SQL Project open, go to the WireCAD Project Menu>Project Utilities>Check in Project.
Follow the types in the Check in dialog. Locate the path to your Vista Project. If your vista project is not in a zipped folder then change the file type option in the lower left corner of the navigation window to the WireCAD Project Locator file type and select the project locator file for your vista project.
Once you have the file path selected click next and then click Finish to start the check in process. During the check in process all the data located in your vista project will be copied into your sql database and your drawings will be copied over into the sql project folder location.
