When performing a ripple from a drawing, the ripple is performed as a background thread in the process bar. When a ripple is performed from a grid (in my case the Project Equipment List) the ripple is performed in the history window.
Nice feature I found out: When performing a ripple from the equipment list while an ripple from the drawing is taking place, this ripple is paused and the new ripple is performed first (Why the Last in, First out principle?)

This is by design. The two methods require different approaches due to the drawing state.
