Just wondering if the new WireCad 8 needs more RAM than I have in my computer (currently 8G) or it is because I am trying to access a project created in wirecad 6. The project is pretty big, about 30 drawings worth. I notice my memory usage going from about 4-5G free until I open up the project or a drawing in the project, then I only have about 300MB left. What are you guys running for RAM? Do you think this could just be because I'm trying to open up a WireCad 6 project? RAM is so cheap now a days that it isn't a big deal, just trying to make sure this is normal. Thanks!

If the project is filebased (VISTADB) we can chew through memory as the entire database is loaded in memory. If SQL server not so much. WireCAD v8 uses .NET4 which does require more memory. We develop on 64bit machines with 12GIG of RAM (the 32bit equivalent of 6GIG).
I hope this helps.
