How To Find and Replace a Port Name
In this section we will discuss the finer points of finding and replacing text in WireCAD blocks.
Before You Start
When you see a WireCAD block in a drawing it is referred to as an Insert. WireCAD blocks employ Attributes to display the text values you see. These Attributes are editable. For every port you see in a WireCAD block there is at least one invisble attribute at the connection point. This attribute contains a pipe | delimited string formatted as:
PORTNAME|SIGNALTYPE|CONNECTOR
In addition to the connection point attribute there may be a Port Name display attribute.
If you change the display attribute without changing the connection point attribute you WILL have grief later. So ALWAYS changed both the display attribute and the connection point attribute concurrently. |
