Rack Tools

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The Rack Tools allow you to automatically create rack layouts. They comprise two tools. The Rack Tool for creating individual racks, and the Rack Builder tool for creating any number of racks. The Rack Builder tool assumes that you have already assigned SysNames to your equipment and provided a basic guess as to location. The Rack Tool has no such requirement and can be used to create a rack layout regardless of SysName Assignment.

Both tools place standard WireCAD Location Grids. WireCAD blocks become location aware when placed in the Location Grid. This allows freedom of movement with all necessary database and drawing field being automatically updated. In addition, item front panels that are placed in the grid and double-clicked will pick up the location as part of the SysName Assignment process.

The Location Grid allows WireCAD to locate systems on the grid.
